ACS, or Alaska Communications Systems, offers good mobile broadband coverage for Alaska and includes data roaming in the lower 48 states and Hawaii. This service utilizes an EV–DO type network

Price/ Fees:

The basic fee for this service runs at $80 per month, but at the time of this review they were offering mobile broadband to their DSL customers for only $30 per month with a free wireless PC aircard.

Coverage:

This is an Alaskan based company and offers good coverage for that area, especially in the developed areas of Fairbanks, Anchorage and Juneau. In the lower 48 it offers some roaming coverage (without additional fees), such as in 84 metropolitan areas and most major airports.

Help/Support:

ACS offer support by telephone and email or you can look through their online information for help. We experienced that they answered our emails generally within a day.

Summary:

If you are one of the few Alaskan residents, this may be a good choice for you, the other 298 million residents of the US will likely fair better with a different service.
