Comcast was first created as a single-system cable operation. Today, they have taken the corporation leaps and bounds and have become a top communication company. With their mobile broadband service, internet2go, Comcast allows its users to stay connected across the country. They do not offer as many features as Verizon Wireless or AT&T but they offer access to both 3G and 4G networks so customers can access more information at a faster speed.

The Comcast mobile service, internet2go, features 2 options: a nationwide 3G plan and a nationwide preferred 4G/3G plan. The 3G plan gives you the option of 2GB or 4GB of monthly 3G usage allowance, depending on the plan selected. However, we were pleased with the nationwide preferred plan which included no overage and roaming charges on the 4G service.

An early termination fee is applied to customers if they wish to cancel within the terms of their 1-year agreement. The early termination fee is $150. A 30-day money back guarantee is offered. If any customer is not fully satisfied and wishes to cancel the Comcast mobile broadband, they can within the first 30 days free of charge.

If you like your mobile broadband speedy, you want a 4G network. 4G downloads speeds up to 6Mbps. Mbps is short for megabits per second and is a measure of data transfer speed. 4G can also upload at speeds up to 1Mbps. Using the Comcast 3G network, download speeds were up to 1.4Mbps and upload speeds were to 700kbps. Kbps stands for kilobit per second and is also a unit of data transfer rate.

The mobile broadband coverage for Comcast was not as impressive as we hoped. Currently, internet2go is growing in a list of metro areas across the United States but it is not nearly as covered as Verizon Wireless, AT&T or even T-Mobile. Access to the 4G network is also only available in certain areas. The 4G network has only hit certain markets and has plans of expanding. For customers who do not live in one of these specific 4G markets, this network is not fully beneficial.

Even though a mobile broadband service is fairly new to the Comcast lineup, many individuals were pleased with its results. The ability to connect to a 3G or 4G network allows this service’s customers to have access to some of the fastest internet available.

One of the standout features of Comcast mobile broadband is their customer support. They provided an interactive Q&A tool which was available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Also, live chat with a Comcast customer service representative was offered. We also easily found an email address and phone number to call and work through any issues that may arise.

Comcast Summary:
/10

Comcast is a mobile broadband service that is growing but it has a lot more growing to do before it becomes a top leader for mobile broadband services. We were pleased with access to 4G, but if you don’t live in a 4G network, this feature does nothing for you. If you are not concerned about the coverage problems of Comcast this is a service to look into. If coverage is important, we suggest looking elsewhere.
